There is some definition of what is innovation, Howard Schultz, chairman and chief executive of Starbucks for over 20 years, describes innovation: “Innovation must be disruptive. And by disruptive, I mean disruptive. You need a fracture and break the rules and disrupt.”

We define innovation as it allows you to add value to your mind and self so that you can increase the level of your mindset, and develop how you think and act in certain situations.

According to McKinsey, 84% of executives say that their future success is dependent on innovation. To grow a business innovation is something important, and innovation is not just some long-term plan and execution, but it is also the basis of bringing a steady flow of growth to the organizations, because the world around us is constantly changing, and in order for a business to remain relevant and profitable, it will eventually need to adapt in order to meet new realities.

Yes, innovation is one of the parts of doing something differently from everyone else, especially in business, anyhow, what about the personal development ourselves?

4 of 5 articles you find on search engines will show why Innovation is important for a business and only 1 of 5 articles will show why Innovation is important for your personal development, then why do I point it out? Isn’t Innovation in business the same important as innovation in personal development?

We all know innovation in business is to create a new product, engagement, or even to create a new and more sales in a business, however, innovation in personal development is defined as an introduction to something new, allowing growth of many new ideas, customs, and inventions in ourselves and as well towards the environment we live in

Human has always been creative. From simple bulbs to flying high in the air, every invention is a result of human creativity. The same applies to innovation as well — the possibilities are infinite. — Nimra Basit

If innovation is important for a business why would innovation is also important in personal development?

Innovation in personal development is quite important, in fact, most of us humans without we realize it we tend to give lots of what we have to the company we work with, as in we create more than enough innovations to create more sales to the company every day, every week, every month, and every year, until we forget about ourselves, and we don’t have time to look into ourselves on what we’re good at, and that could affect our self-esteem as an individual, therefore we sometimes feel we’re not enough even though we thought we’ve done everything that we could, and that is one of the so many reasons why Innovations in Personal development is important, in view of the fact that we need to look through ourselves and develop ourselves more to find out our strength, the more we could understand it the more we can be better in our work

As the innovator, Thomas Edison describes the innovation formula as: “Innovation is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.” And to drive a force to hunt for new possibilities and opportunities. In education, it has the power to make a difference by implementing practical knowledge.

How can we be aware then? is there any way to create awareness for ourselves more? yes! absolutely! there are 4 simple ways to keep innovating ourselves:

1. Keep and Write a Journal: Keeping a journal helps to create order and keep you manageable when you feel like you are in chaos. Keeping a journal also makes you get to know yourself more by revealing your most private fears, thoughts, and feelings. ‘Re-visit’ at your writing time as personal relaxation time. It’s a time when you can de-stress and calm down. Write in a place that’s relaxing and soothing or even before and after you start your day, remind yourself to know that you’re doing something good for your mind and body. journaling can help you with managing your mental health as well, such as Managing anxiety, Reducing stress, and Cope with depression.

2. Listen to your heart: We often hear ourselves or others say, “My mind thinks one thing, but my heart feels another.” We as a human have an amazingly different way to create awareness, and intuition is one of the other ways, intuition is first registered from the heart and then up to the brain to create the signal, however, most of the time we don’t listen to the heart because our brain ‘trying to defend us with the under consciousness problem we don’t want to face, therefore you can try to listen to your intuition and experience the guidance rather than avoiding it.

“As more of humanity practices heart-based living, it will qualify the ‘rite’ of passage into the next level of consciousness. Using our heart’s intuitive guidance will become common sense — practical intelligence.” Doc Childre — HeartMath founder

3. Keep the judgment to ourselves low: Pointing out criticism is alright, especially positive criticism, however, we tend to be more judgemental than we should be, and in fact, that can create an effect on mental health: insecurity, so let's keep the bar low for this one.

4. Appreciate ourselves more: As you keeping your judgment bar low, instead we can be more grateful and appreciate ourselves more, and focus on what we can do and what we can give to ourselves right in front of ourselves step-by-step, no need to be in a rush because even a baby can not do sprint right after they born, arent they? so why should we be in a rush?. Appreciating ourselves more can create a positive yet not a toxic-positivity ‘bubble’ in our life, and can help us to be more relaxed and more accountable.

As a human, we innovate to be better to grow, and the point of life is to evolve, without a vision we will perish, it’s either we are growing or dying, becoming better or bitter. If we are not growing how do we know if we’ve done something great? By growing and evolving we always need something new, whether it’s a new way, new situation, or new job.

In order to drive growth, stay relevant even though times are constantly changing, and differentiate from the last version of yourself as in you don’t need to be different from other people all the time, because we are all different in anyways, be different from our previous self to understand how much we’re grown and evolved.
